There's no doubt about it, we are living in challenging and uncertain times, with restrictions limiting us from doing the things we are accustomed to. As we keep processing these changes, it may be difficult to remember that God is always with us. Many may be starting to question why would God allow certain situations; why does it seem He is slow to provide resources and relief?
Life is complex, and the Bible doesn’t suggest otherwise. King David had many trials and tribulations in the time leading up to before he was made King of Israel. He was hunted by King Saul who wanted to kill him and he had to hide out in a cave for many months for shelter. When he faced difficult times, he always remembered that God was his rock, a secure foundation for life. God was his fortress, a safe place to go for protection.
David wrote in Psalm 62:2;
“Truly He is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will never be shaken.”
Remember, God is always there for us if we call out to Him, He is there to lean on and turn to when facing difficult times, He will never let us down.
Psalm 46:7 "The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress".
At St John's, we pray for our students and their families and staff members. This week, we are praying for:
Benjamin Wenke, Connor Strauss, Ivy Tervet,
Mackenzie Smillie, Mrs Narelle Coverdale.
Yours in Christian service,
Dear St John's families,
What a fantastic way to start the week with our students smiling, excited and running through the school gates to see friends and staff! We have been following all NSW COVID safe guidelines, which has resulted in several adjustments to class activities and playground protocols.
A school doesn’t feel the same when our students and families are away, so to be back in action, albeit in a modified way, is a great feeling.
This short but purposeful message is to say:
- thank you for your support over the past months
- let us know if we can help you in any way if you require support, your well-being, your child’s well-being is paramount to us
- have a safe and positive two-week break
- we can’t wait for a strong and successful Term 4
From all of the staff at St John’s, we are hopeful of a sense of normality next term and look forward to seeing you then!
It is so good to have all our students back at school, especially for the last week of Term.
The creative work which was submitted during the time of remote learning has been fantastic. Here are some photos of the achievements of our remote learning students during the last two weeks and a couple of our on-site students' activities as well.
Congratulations St John's students and families for your fantastic fundraising and participation with Jump Rope For Heart 2021. We have raised an outstanding $8,753.00 for our JRFH Fundraiser! An incredible and generous amount going to the Heart Foundation to support vital research and save lives. Well done everyone!
This would not be possible without all your fundraising and skipping efforts over the last 8 weeks – a massive, heart-felt thank you goes out to you all - students and families - for being involved and showing your support for the Heart Foundation.
Although we have now finished Jump Rope for Heart at school, it is very important to continue being active everyday and keep learning new skipping and movement skills. Congratulations to all who participated and a special commendation to our Top 10 Fundraisers for 2021.
