Lutheran Laypeople's League (LLL)

What is the LLL?

The Lutheran Laypeople’s League (LLL) was established in 1921. Its prime purpose is to assist the Lutheran Church of Australia Incorporated (LCA) in its mission of spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ.

The LLL operates a deposit account system similar to a savings account with any bank or credit union. It provides loans to LCA approved projects at a rate of 5% p.a. and assists in many business, finance and administrative needs of the LCA.
Are your funds secure with the LLL?

The LCA guarantees repayment of all loans, and also indemnifies the LLL against any loss in the event of a default. Other funds are placed in secure investments only. The LLL does not speculate in shares or property. In addition, the LLL uses Reserve Bank regulations for Authorised Deposit Taking Institutions as a guideline to maintain its Capital Adequacy ratio to ensure ongoing viability, and to assist in safeguarding depositor’s funds.
Earmarking of Deposits

When money is deposited with the LLL, depositors can instruct that their funds are to be used for a specific project. In the case of St John’s, earmarking of deposits will enable all supporters to pool resources in support of the school. Whilst your funds are ‘earmarked’ for use by the school, they are still readily available and at call for your own use any time you may need them.
